Banksy, a street artist whose identity remains unknown, is believed to have been born in Bristol, England, around 1974.
He began his graffiti art lifestyle by admiring the works of Blek Le Rat and often recycling his old ideas.
He has been very active in the graffiti scene since the early 1990s and rose to prominence for his provocative stencilled pieces. His work includes many powerful, often controversial images.
