Donk plays with visual ideas in story book fashion and remix urban culture and history, across an anachronistic timeline of his own making. Referencing the past and the contemporary to make playful connections between universal themes of human strength, vulnerability and the passage of time.
His aim is to communicate something sincere but ultimately entertaining.
He developed the idea of Donk as a space for creative play outside of his work as a photographer.
In 2008 he started to place images onto the street where he explored a photographic & Xerox style of paste up art, color washing the Xerox in colored inks to soften, age and alter the final mood.
