Louis Masai's love of painting flourished as he watched his father follow his passion for art. Once his Dad had finished serving in the family restaurant, he would head over to the studio and Masai would join him to work on his art homework.
Although Masai didn't enjoy education, he changed his view when he was able to study art at University and acquire a degree from Falmouth, Cornwall.
He maintains a fairly balanced combination of painting in the studio and painting murals in the public domain and gets huge enjoyment from both and embrace the influences that both practices have on each other.
Masai's subject matter focuses on animals but always strives to find a human reference to juxtapose an element that might not be previously obvious.
